The Museum was originally conceived as the ICS Hall of Fame, and as a repository for its growing collection of historically significant surgical instrumentation, artworks and manuscripts. The mission of the Museum is to enrich people's lives by enhancing their appreciation and understanding of the history, art and advances of surgery. One of the first exhibits to be installed was the Hall of Immortals, containing twelve large stone statues of great figures in the field of medicine and the allied sciences. The founding leaders of the Museum hoped to make the collection meaningful to the public by organizing exhibits by nation. The staff is welcoming and the building clean.

It has some cool things to see but $17 to get in is high for what it is. So many choices, the food was really good. The Museum supports its Mission through medically thematized exhibitions and programs, in addition to a strong contemporary arts advocacy program.A must see for the Mansion itself. I loved learning about and viewing such timeless and historical artifacts.
