The simple movement mechanics of following a path are always welcome, and the art style is still great to enjoy while not detracting from play.The components are also very good, with the boats quite nice especially for the time. While it is a lot of fun, the slowdown in play due to the daikaiju adds for me unnecessary overhead for the sake of a new mechanic in gameplay. Just as a cool FYI, the rule about eliminated players continuing to roll for Daikaiju movement is so awesome and helps keep people engaged, that it will be included as an official rule starting with the next run of the game.

With Tsuro of the Seas: Veterans of the Seas, an expansion for Tsuro of the Seas, you'll be able to add more excitement to your game with the Tsunami (Tidal Wave) and Uzushio (Whirlpool) tiles. I really enjoy the series, and highly recommend it to anyone!
As with the original, the components are top notch and it is packaged appropriately...albeit with a bit more room than needed so that tiles can slide around. With a lot of daikaijuon the board, this can take quite a while. It's far too random, often getting knocked out in the first couple of turns due to the dragons and bad luck. Amazing design, even more fun than the original Tsuro. Any time you don't want the extra complication of Tsuro of the Seas, you just remove all the monsters and stuff and the dotted 21 tiles, use those tiles to block off to a 6x6 grid and wah-bam...you can now play the original Tsuro exactly. This is, however, only a problem for those of us that appreciate how a game is boxed and/or have a little bit of OCD! Closing Thoughts on Tsuro. I enjoy games of skill and planning, which this requires almost none of. Inside of the box you'll find some tiles with roads, a beautiful looking board and rulebook, and some disgruntled dragons. U.
